ENHANCING REFUGEE PROCESSING WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

Devis, as the prime contractor for the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), implemented the START project to streamline and enhance the refugee processing system. This project involved customizing and configuring the ServiceNow platform to improve data throughput, system scalability, and security.

The START project focused on addressing significant challenges in the refugee processing system. Prior to Devis' leadership, the system experienced inefficiencies and bottlenecks that impeded performance. Our team undertook a comprehensive approach to overhaul and enhance system functionalities:

  • Code Customization and Process Optimization

We enhanced system monitoring and performed code improvements across databases and supporting applications, increasing data throughput from 2-3 updates per day to 11-14. This resulted in a more agile and responsive data handling process.

  • Architectural Upgrades for Scalability

The system architecture was upgraded to incorporate virtualization and parallelism, improving scalability and performance. These upgrades enabled the system to handle increased transaction volumes and future-proofed it against evolving requirements.

  • Cybersecurity Enhancements

Transitioning all PRM/RPC operations to AWS GovCloud, we enhanced security and consolidated servers. This move ensured compliance with federal requirements and provided a robust security framework.

  • Support for Tableau

We integrated Tableau for advanced data visualization and analytics, supporting users in over 80 countries. This allowed for more insightful and accessible data reporting, aiding in better decision-making processes across various regions.

  • Helpdesk Support

Devis established a robust Helpdesk support system to provide continuous assistance and resolve issues promptly. This included Tier II and Tier III support, ensuring that all technical problems were addressed efficiently, enhancing overall user satisfaction.
