Devis Displays MilSpouse.org Tool at Military Relocation Training Conference - May 2006

Attendees of "Excellence in Relocation" Event Discover a Valuable Resource in DoD/DOL-sponsored Web Portal

ARLINGTON, Virginia (May 17, 2006) – From May 15-17, Development InfoStructure (Devis), a leading provider of information technology consulting services, exhibited at the 2006 Joint Services Relocation Training Conference – an Orlando event that attracted hundreds of relocation managers from military service branches around the globe. During the conference, Devis displayed and demonstrated the Military Spouse Resource Center tool, popularly known as Milspouse.org, as well as several of the Department of Labor's career information eTools. As a result, many of the U.S. military's relocation managers learned about new online resources to help them in their daily duties assisting military families.

Designed and developed by Devis, Milspouse.org is a comprehensive government Web portal that connects military spouses to relevant employment resources and career-related information. Jointly sponsored by the U.S. Departments of Defense (DoD) and Labor (DOL), it empowers spouses of U.S. total force military personnel to easily access resources and opportunities related to employment, education and training, and relocation. As an example, a military spouse that has been relocated to a new base can use MilSpouse.org to find information on priority hiring programs, including the Spouse Preference Program. In addition to MilSpouse.org, Devis demonstrated additional career-related eTools developed for DOL, including O*NET Online, Career Voyages, and CareerOneStop.

"Military spouses represent a unique audience with special needs," said Cheryllynn Hamm, Devis's MilSpouse Web Content Manager. "With every relocation, they deserve access to the best available tools to aid them in their search for employment, child care, information on their new communities and more. Milspouse.org guides them to these resources, and the Excellence in Relocation conference offered us a valuable opportunity to introduce this powerful Web tool to its target users."

In addition to MilSpouse.org, Devis has created several additional OnLine Coaches for federal government agencies. All are based on Devis EZ Reusable Object (EZRO) technology, an open source, standards-compliant Web application that modifies and restyles reusable content objects. The highly adaptable Coaches enhance and simplify the Web sites with which they are mated, helping organizations realize the full potential of their present-day Web environments.
