GSA Acquisition Planning Wizard News – June 2006

On June 21, 2006 Federal Computer Week published an article outlining the value of the upgraded Acquisition Planning Wizard (APW) at GSA. The APW has so far helped over 2,000 GSA users create 5,500 compliant plans worth over $5 billion in procurement actions. GSA noted in their Summer 2006 GSA Acquisition Workforce Forum newsletter that APW is "a great tool that supports effective program management and ensures compliance with GSA Order OGP 2800.1 and the FAR." In the newsletter, GSA anticipates that Agency Partners (non-GSA staff) will be able to participate as Coordinators on acquisition plans developed with APW by the end of August. The GSA publication also states that "This will help streamline the approval process and achieve acquisition excellence."
